Designed for school leavers, our academies allow you to combine a full-time college course with high-level training, competitive fixtures and unforgettable sporting experiences.
Football Academy with Blyth Spartans AFC
Our Football Academy in partnership with Blyth Spartans AFC gives players the opportunity to develop their skills in a professional sporting environment while studying towards a recognised qualification.
As an academy player, you’ll train regularly, compete in regional, national and international competitions, and represent the college against some of the strongest teams in the country.
The academy has enjoyed significant success in recent years, including reaching the First Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup, providing student footballers with the opportunity to compete on one of the biggest stages in youth football.
Students also have the chance to play internationally through the New York City Cup. Our 2026 squad were crowned tournament champions after an outstanding campaign, highlighting the exciting opportunities available to academy players.

Rugby Academy with Newcastle Rugby Foundation
Our Rugby Academy in partnership with Newcastle Rugby Foundation is perfect for students who want to compete at a high level while preparing for their future career.
Students benefit from expert coaching, training programmes and regular competitive fixtures throughout the season. The academy provides an environment where players can improve their technical abilities, physical performance and understanding of the game.
In addition to competing across the region and nationally, students also have the opportunity to test themselves internationally through the academy’s annual tour to Spain, where they take part in an overseas fixture and gain valuable rugby experience.
