Enrolment is the term we use to get you sorted for September. The process is very straight forward, and we try to make it as quick and fun as possible. We make sure all your information is correct and up to date, you have another chat with your course tutor who makes sure it’s the right course for you and checks you have the right entry requirements.

Once we have done all of our admin, we will take your photograph and give you your student ID card. This is really important, and all staff and students onsite at college are required to wear your student ID card and student lanyard at all times.

You will be given a start date, and told where to go on your first day.

As everybody’s situation is different, we have three scenarios which should cover most applications.

Applied, Offered and waiting on GCSE results

You were most likely offered a place on your course based on your predicted GCSEs. On GCSE results day you may be delighted with your results and might even be able to access a higher level course than you were expecting, or on the other hand some may have not done as well as expected. If this is you, please don’t worry, we have a team on hand to make sure you get sorted on the right course.

Come in to college once you have your GCSE results, all of our enrolment dates are available here. We are even open on the Saturday after GCSE results day if you want to come along then!

Waiting for GCSE results but haven’t applied or been offered yet

It is by no means too late to apply and enrol. Get your application completed online now on our website, you can browse our full list of courses here.

After you submit your application, our Admissions Team will then be in touch.

Or if you would prefer to see us face-to-face, pop in with your GCSE results on results day and we will be able to get you signed up and enrolled all on the same day!

Offered and already have GCSE’s from a previous year

If you already have your GCSEs or qualifications, we are beginning our enrolment events across July and August. View dates and times here.

As part of the enrolment process, we will make sure that we have put all support in place that you may need, so don’t worry you won’t be missed off. Our admissions, careers and student services teams will be on hand during the whole enrolment process to answer any questions you may have on financial support, how to apply and what you may be entitled to. They will also be on-hand for careers advice and guidance if you might have changed your mind. Follow us on social media to keep up to date. You will need to bring your GCSE results with you so we can ensure you’re on the right course based on your grades.

You can bring whoever you like with you to enrolment, or you can come alone.

You will receive your student ID card, learning agreement and a card telling you the date and time of your first day at college.

During busier times, enrolment can take up to an hour. We recommend coming first thing to avoid queues. If you already have your GCSEs, we would also recommend coming to on of the earlier dates prior to GCSE results day.

No, you don’t need to pre-book.

Most courses will start the week commencing Tuesday 1^st September after the bank holiday Monday. Your induction day will depend on your course, and you will be given this information at enrolment.

Our student services team will be on hand to during enrolment to support with bursary and travel support applications.

Our careers team and tutors can advise on the appropriate level you will start on. If you were expecting to start on a Level 3 qualification, but didn’t quite get the GCSEs, we would look at the Level 2. Our staff are extremely experienced in advising what course is best for each individual student. We will make sure we get you sorted!

Induction week is designed to get you familiar with college life. You will meet new friends and classmates, find out where to access our huge range of support teams, and attend your freshers fair with lots of fun activities, giveaways and freebies.

Your timetable will be very personal to you, depending on the subjects you have chosen to study.

It will consist of your chosen course along with Independent Study and Tutorial. If you are also doing your Maths and/or English, this will be included in your timetable.

All students have free time on a Wednesday afternoon which is used for ‘enrichment’, giving you the opportunity to take part in NESA, across a wide range of different sports.

Unlike school, you haven’t got back to back lessons Monday to Friday. You will have times in the week where you don’t have lessons. Students use this time to get a part time job, complete coursework and homework in the library, or chill out in the social spaces we have across college. Our enrichment timetable is also a fantastic opportunity to take part in new activities.

College isn’t like school, for most courses there is no uniform required and you can come into college in casual clothes.

However, if you do require a uniform for your course, you will be told more about this during your induction.
