Diploma in Policing – Level 3

You want to prepare for a career working in the police service.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide specialist knowledge, skills and understanding relating to working in the police service in areas such as career aspirations, leadership skills and equality, diversity and inclusion, which can be applied to current or future employment. The content has been developed with employers, subject experts and Tutors to ensure that it’s relevant to the real world and meets the need of employers.

 

 

This qualification is designed to provide learners with an in-depth understanding of the principles of policing and to allow them to explore the various avenues of work within it. It will also allow learners to gain transferable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study.

Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade D (3) or above (with at least 1 at Grade C (4) or above). This is the equivalent to 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above. Completion of a Level 1 Certificate with relevant English and maths qualifications will be accepted.

An informal interview with the course tutor is also required.

You will also need a reasonable level of fitness and to be able to demonstrate excellent teamwork skills with a total focus on completing the course.

You will produce a portfolio of work over the year consisting of work from unit workbooks and practical observations.

You may progress onto the Level 3 course or take up a career in one of the armed or civilian Uniformed Services.
