NCFE Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity – Level 3

This course is for you if...

You want to be equipped with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for a successful career in fitness, sports coaching or teaching.

This course will further develop your confidence and ability to deliver sport sessions with opportunities, experiences and qualifications to boost your coaching capabilities. You will learn all about a range of topics such as how to plan and deliver coaching sessions, write diet plans for different athletes, delivering sports massages and preparing and leading fitness training sessions amongst others.

 

 

There are visits to universities, a UCAS Convention, a range of guest speakers from the sports industry and the opportunity to volunteer at a range of different sporting events across the region. What’s more, you’ll also have the opportunity to gain industry experience while undertaking a work placement.

Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C (4) or above, including English and Maths OR Merit in a Sport qualification at Level 2 along with C’s (4’s) at GCSE in English and Maths. An interview with a course tutor and a reference from a personal tutor are required.

You will be assessed through your coursework, which includes projects, group presentations and practical work.

You could progress onto a wide range of university degrees in areas such as: Sport & Exercise Science, Sports Coaching, Sports Development, Sports Management, Sports Therapy, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Psychology or Sports Nutrition.

You also have the option to study a Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching or Exercise Health & Fitness at TyneMet, awarded by the University of Sunderland.
