You have a passion and drive to have a successful career within the fitness industry. The Diploma is specifically aimed at students who have completed a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction or have relevant industry specific fitness qualifications/experience and want to be equipped with the further knowledge, understanding and practical skills required for a successful career in the fitness industry.
This course will further develop your confidence and ability to deliver fitness based sessions (1 to 1 and group) with opportunities, experiences and qualifications to boost your instructing capabilities. You will learn all about a range of topics such as how the bodily systems work, programming with advanced methods of training, analysing food diaries, delivering sports massages and preparing and leading group fitness training session, for example kettlebells and studio cycling instruction. There will be a range of guest speakers from the health and fitness industry sharing key information and the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within various established health and fitness clubs across the region.
Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C (4) or above, a Level 2 certificate in Fitness Instruction, work experience in the industry (desirable). You will also need to attend an interview with the course tutor.
You will be assessed through your coursework, which includes case studies, group presentations and practical observations. There will also be a range of externally set exams across various units.
Upon completion of this course, you can progress on to study a Level 4 in Sports Massage as well as other industry specific fitness qualifications, e.g. Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral.
