Certificate in Education and Training – Level 4 (January)
Course Overview
This qualification is for a range of learners including pre and in service candidates who need a teaching qualification to confirm occupational competence for their role as a teacher, trainer or tutor within an FE college, adult/community learning centre or training provider. It is also suitable for anyone delivering work based training, working in the prison service, voluntary community as well as public or private organisations.
This course covers aspects such as; the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training and how you plan to meet the individual needs of learners in education and training.
It also considers how you can deliver teaching or training, what resources you might use to help and how to assess that learning has taken place.
As part of this course you are required to complete 30 hours of teaching/training which you are expected to organise yourself.
Attendance is usually on an evening, once a week for approximately six months.
You should be suitably qualified with a Level 3 qualification and/or experienced in the subject you intend to teach. Evidence of achieving Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent) is advisable. Candidates should also be age 19+ and will require a current DBS.
Assessment for this qualification includes written assignments, group activities, presentations, teaching observations and peer assessment.
