TyneMet College is proud to announce that first-year Football Excellence student, Gildo DaSilva has been selected to represent the England U18 Schoolboys squad for the 2024/25 international season.
After numerous successful trial stages, Gildo impressed at the final trial on Sunday, January 12th, with the announcement of his success made on Monday evening. As part of the squad, he will now proudly represent England in the Centenary Shield campaign, where the team will take on Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland over the coming months.
Gildo joined the Football Excellence course in partnership with Blyth Spartans AFC in September and has already made a big impact. He has played a key role in a thrilling FA Youth Cup run and league fixtures, showcasing his talent and dedication. This latest achievement marks an incredible milestone in his football journey.
His success follows in the footsteps of three other academy players who previously represented England at this level, demonstrating the programmes reputation for developing top-tier talent.
