This course is for you if...
You would like to gain an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children or young people in primary, secondary or special schools and colleges. They include learning about children and young people’s development, safeguarding their welfare and communication.
The Level 3 Diploma is suitable for those working or volunteering in support roles within schools and colleges.
You should be at least 16 years old and have gained GCSE English at grade C/4 or above.
Learners undertaking the Certificate will also need to be working or volunteering in a school or college environment as they will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
You will need to attend an interview with a course tutor and demonstrate an interest in working with children and young people. You will also need a DBS check and two confidential references.
You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.
You could progress straight into employment or to a Foundation Degree.
