Course Overview

This business apprenticeship qualification is aimed at practising or aspiring managers who supervise or manage a team, or project officer and shift manager to achieve clearly defined outcomes. They will set and monitor goals and objectives by providing instruction, direction and guidance. Day to day operational and project activities are a key part of their role.

Upon completing the Diploma qualification you will be awarded Foundation Chartered Manager Status. Putting aspiring and early-career managers on a guided development pathway to becoming a fully-fledged Chartered Manager.

How long do apprenticeships last?

Apprenticeships can last anywhere from one to four years.

How many hours will I work for?

Apprentices will work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

How long will I study at college for?

All apprenticeships are different. Some apprentices could spend four days at work and one day at college, whilst others could spend several weeks at work and a week at college. A designated work-based tutor will be on hand throughout your apprenticeship and will be able to give guidance.

How much will I get paid?

The minimum wage for apprentices is £4.30 per hour for your first year, though many employers pay more. After your first year this rises to the national minimum wage for your age, if you are 19 or older.

Am I entitled to holidays?

You are entitled to 20 days of paid holidays a year, as well as bank holidays.

This qualification is aligned to CMI Professional Standards and the Apprenticeship Standards for the Team Leader/Supervisor ST0384/01
