Course Overview
The Award in Contact Dermatitis Prevention is designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in identifying, preventing, and managing contact dermatitis in various settings. Contact dermatitis is a common skin condition caused by exposure to irritants or allergens, making prevention strategies crucial for maintaining skin health and overall well-being.
The aim of this unit is to increase the students awareness of work related contact dermatitis. Those working in industries such as: cleaning, hairdressing, catering, barbering and beauty therapy are more likely to develop contact dermatitis than in any other occupations.
This course is ideal for those who are already studying a beauty or hairdressing course or are currently working in those sectors.
Following completion of the course, you will be able to:
- Identify the characteristics and causes of contact dermatitis
- Explain how to prevent contact dermatitis
This unit will be assessed by an externally set and internally marked multiple choice test covering the underpinning knowledge.
