Certificate for Aspiring Professionals, Level 2

Course Overview

The Level 2 Certificate in Aspiring Professionals is designed for adults who want to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to move into a business, enterprise or professional role.

This course is ideal if you are returning to education, looking to change career, or aiming to progress in your current job. It focuses on practical business understanding and professional workplace skills that employers value.

You will study the level 2 certificate in business programme in one intensive year; this is a blended learning course so there is an expectation that students will complete elements of coursework in their own time.

This course is suitable for adult students who want to progress into a business, administration, retail, marketing or supervisory role, or who are interested in enterprise or small business ownership. It is ideal for those who need a Level 2 qualification to support further study or career progression, as well as adults returning to education who are looking for a supportive, adult‑focused learning environment. The evening delivery makes it particularly suitable for students balancing study alongside work or family commitments.

No prior business experience or qualifications are required to access this course.

You will complete a selection of units designed to support progression into professional business settings:

  • Exploring Business
Learn how different businesses operate and what contributes to success.

  • Finance for Business
Understand income, costs, profit and how businesses manage money.

  • Principles of Marketing
Discover how businesses promote products and services and attract customers.

  • Sustainability

  • Recruitment, Selection and Employment

You could progress onto further study on a level 3 qualification or an apprenticeship in business-related subjects, alternatively, you could enter full-time employment in the business sector.

This course will be delivered on a Thursday evening from 4:30pm-8:30pm.
