Diploma in Engineering (Fabrication and Welding) – Level 3
Course Overview
This Level 3 Welding course is designed for students looking for advanced skills in welding processes, techniques, and safety practices. Building on the knowledge from Level 2, this course delves deeper into complex welding procedures. As part of the course, students will gain hands-on experience with a variety of welding methods including MIG, TIG, and MMA on a range of materials.
The course emphasises precision, structural integrity, and adherence to industry standards. Students will also be introduced to platework and sheet metal fabrication of materials, preparing them for careers in welding and fabrication.

Units on the course include:
- Engineering health and safety
- Engineering principles
- Principles of fabrication and welding
- MIG welding of materials
- Platework fabrication of materials
- Sheet metalwork fabrication of materials
To study the course, students will need a relevant Level 2 qualification in engineering.
