Access to A Levels in Business Course // Level 2
The course is for you if you're interested in business and you want to build an exciting career in this sector.
You will study the level 2 Extended Certificate in Business programme, which is the equivalent to three GCSEs, alongside GCSE English and Mathematics if required, giving you the potential to achieve five GCSEs in one intensive year.
This course looks at the various aspects of business which will give you an understanding of business through exploring a variety of subjects. It will allow you to gain access to A Levels or the Extended Diploma in Business Programme.
This course has
been specifically designed to allow you to gain the skills, knowledge and
experiences required by local employers in the business sector. It has a mix of
practical and theory-based units which are assessed through exams and
coursework.

A member of our BTEC business team will discuss your potential to gain an offer of a place on this course via an informal interview.
You will be
assessed via coursework, teamwork, practical work and exams.
You could progress onto further study on a level 3 qualification or an apprenticeship in business-related subjects, alternatively, you could enter full-time employment in the business sector.

The Business Team is busy making preparations for the start of your programme in September 2020.Covid-19 has challenged the delivery of programmes. At TyneMet College we have developed an effective approach to your programme of study, blending face-to-face and online teaching. Our experience has shown that this method opens new learning opportunities for all, enabling you to develop graduate skills such as time management, self-care and workload prioritisation, with support from the HND Business team and wider college services available to you.
Your sessions will continue to be taught.. This approach will ensure you develop your knowledge and skills on campus. In addition, some theoretical lectures will be delivered online using conference technology (Microsoft Teams).
