Work Based Learning

Service Industries

There are great opportunities for those who work in the service industries and TyneMet is the perfect place to learn or develop the skills demanded by the sector. Whether students want to get the perfect job or set up their own business, TyneMet courses are a great option.

Programmes offered by the Service Industries department include hairdressing, beauty therapy, nails, holistic therapies, floristry, horticulture, sport, fitness, hospitality and catering.

The department also presents a number of skills development and training opportunities for those already working for a service industry business. From apprenticeships to work based learning, the courses are designed to develop the skills of specific teams at times that are convenient for individual companies. It is possible to obtain funding for these tailor-made courses.
