Queen Alexandra offers a wide range of AS and A2 courses in a friendly dedicated Sixth Form College giving you the independence to learn and develop.
You can pick the A Level subjects that you enjoy and those which fit in with your career plans. Even if you are not sure where you want to go in life, we can help you to broaden your skills and experience to progress to Higher Education at college or university, or to go straight into employment.

You will study four AS Levels in your first year and then continue with three A2 Levels in your second year to gain full A Level qualifications. You will also follow a functional skills programme (Maths and English) alongside your chosen subjects.
Queen Alexandra Sixth Form and TyneMet College have joined forces to create one of the most exciting new learning zones - The Creative Studios. Based at Queen Alexandra Campus, the Creative Studios feature state-of-the-art equipment, such as the brand new Mac room with 28" top of the range Apple Mac computers for the next generation of designers, and expert teaching to help you to excel.
Courses you can study at the Creative Studios include:
Fine Art; Drama and Theatre Studies; Film Studies; Graphic Design; Photography; and Textiles.
Every Queen Alexandra student is allocated a Tutor who will be there to help with your Personal Learning Plan and keep you on track for success.
This extra qualification can be taken at AS Level and requires you to choose a topic you are interested in, complete an assignment or research project on this topic and deliver a presentation. The EPQ earns you extra UCAS points and is highly regarded by universities.
