With the British Colleges Northern region cup already under their belts, Tyne Met. have reached their 2nd final of the season with a devastating performance and they wont stop there with another 2 cups up for grabs this season.

Tyne Met. HE team got down to business early on when Daniel Chambers ran at them with pace causing them a multitude of problems. Tyne Met. played some unbelievable football early on and the possession ratio in the first 20 minutes must have been around 80% against 20%.

Ben 'The kernel' Pollock was in his usual role of pulling the strings in the midfield and cutting out any threat. With McMullan, Cowley and Harrison also in the midfield Durham did not know what had hit them early on.

Then after 10 minutes they got there rewards when an intelligent move down the left by Chambers resulted in a pin point cross to Michael 'The machine' McMullan who hit home to make it 1-0.

Then Adam Pollock sailed a poetic through ball over to send Mark Cowley in on goal and a cool finish past the keeper made it 2-0.

Tyne Met. did become complacent and kept their foot on the gas and after another 5 minutes McMullan struck an amazing volley which the keeper had know chance in stopping and after hitting the stanchion of the net it was 3-0.

Chambers was causing the opposition all sorts of problems and looked like a man amongst boys and another chance by him which he carved out himself seen the ball rock the cross bar and the rebounds dropped to Kurt 'Super glue chest' Blacklock who put the ball over the line but it was disallowed.

The 4th goal came 10 minutes later and was a result of the relentless passing moves the team do in training week in week out. The move started from keeper Daniel Harker who played his best game of the season, he placed it to Ross Houghton at left back who played it inside delicately to Ben, he instantly passed it over to Johny 'The Cash' Cope, who picked it up and found Adam, who slipped it back inside to Ben, Ben then played a superb ball to Chambers who played an even better ball round the corner to McMullan, he ran down the right and stepped over the ball leaving the defender for dead, then cut back a brilliant cross for Chambers who took a quick touch and what seemed in one movement drilled the ball low to hit the back of the net amazing goal and 4-0.

The 5th was an unbelievable run by Chambers who slipped past no fewer then 4 players and was hauled down in the box for a clear cut penalty. Ben Pollock took the kick and Tyne Met. were home and dry at 5-0.

Half time came and Tyne Met. were encouraged to go out and sustain a professional performance, keep a clean sheet, but most importantly enjoy themselves.

Tyne Met. did not take long in the second half to make it 6 and it was from man of the match Michael McMullan who not only scored 4 but put in a hard working performance to go with it. He picked the ball up and drilled across the keeper to give him no chance to make it 6-0.

Tyne Met. made a few changes and it did not take long to become involved when a deep cross was saved and Andrew 'The loyal German Shepherd' Smith followed up the rebounds and put it just wide.

The game was then wrapped up with 20 minutes to go in absolute style, and it came from no other than Michael McMullan who is very much a confidence player and is piping hot at the moment. He picked the ball up out left and from 25yards rocketed an unstoppable shot which struck the top hand corner of the net and almost got stuck in there 7-0.

The game came to an end and it had been a fantastic performance from Tyne Met. who on the day probably had another 3 gears in them and could have upped the pace at any given time.

Manager Jimmy Garrity stated after the game "The team really deserve this, they have put in some massive performances this season to get themselves here and they should be very proud of themselves for today and all season, I know I am"

Tyne Met. are back in action this Friday when they play Cardinal Newman College in the National quarter-finals of the British Colleges Cup, the kick off is at 2:30pm and the game is being played at Northumbria University on their 3rd generation pitch, good look the green and white army.
