Tyne Metropolitan College and Siemens are leading the way with a new generation of business apprenticeships for the Wind Power industry. The partnership will see the College and Siemens deliver a four-year apprenticeship programme, offering business administration apprentices a fascinating insight into the growing energy industry, Wind Power.
The four-year Apprenticeship programme is the first of its kind for the Siemens site, situated at Cobalt Business Park and aims to develop talent by providing individuals with a tailored training programme. With openings in business administration for the Wind Power sector, the apprenticeship vacancies represent fantastic opportunities for talented individuals looking for an exciting career.
As a global leader of large wind turbine generators, Siemens is driving new technologies for the Wind Power industry – it’s an exciting place to be and the lucky apprentices will benefit from a thorough apprenticeship programme in a wide range of the energy giant’s departments. This is a brand new venture for Siemens, who have worked with TyneMet for a number of years to fill blue collar position, this is the first time Siemens have run white collar apprenticeships for its Wind Power division.
Head of Training at Siemens in the Power Service - Wind Power, Carl Robb, said: “It was a natural choice for Siemens to partner with TyneMet following the successful apprenticeship schemes that have been running with TyneMet for blue collar positions, which has been extremely well received. The College has extensive experience delivering Apprenticeships in a wide range of sectors and areas which appealed to our specific business requirements. The TyneMet Business Development team is responsive, engaged and crucially flexible to the ever changing needs of our business landscape – helping to match our complex workforce needs perfectly.”
Carl added: “We are passionate about what we do here at Siemens and being able to share this with like-minded individuals is very important to us. Our aim is to develop talent and underpin skills sets by providing a comprehensive work experience scheme that offers individuals a valuable qualification at the end of it.”
The programme will see TyneMet deliver a four - year Apprenticeship at Siemens offering successful candidates the opportunity to develop skills across Siemens integral business departments.
