Bob the Builder and Peppa Pig were special guests at Tyne Metropolitan College’s Nursery Open Day where families came to enjoy a great morning of fun and games.
Families flocked to the Nursery, located on the TyneMet College Campus in Wallsend, which had arranged the Open Day to celebrate 10 years since opening. The open day gave the Nursery the opportunity to showcase their excellent facilities and chat informally to families who wanted to know more about places the nursery has available.
During the morning the children who attended with their parents had the chance to meet Bob and Peppa, have their faces painted, play on a bouncy castle and enjoyed showing off their creative talents by painting or drawing pictures.
Working in partnership with Tynemouth Nursery Group, the College offers a 36 place nursery which cares for babies and children aged six weeks to five years old and provides flexible care to enable parents to return to education or employment with peace of mind.
The nursery which is open from 8am until 6pm, Monday to Friday for 50 weeks of the year, has a spacious outdoor area and well-resourced rooms, enabling the children to access a wide range of activities to develop their skills.
Highly trained staff who work at the nursery were on hand at the event to talk to parents about nursery places that are still available and the free ‘settling in sessions’ for all children who join the nursery.
The staff were also celebrating their recent Ofsted inspection which assessed the provision as ‘Good’ with the ‘Wellbeing of Children’ rated as ‘Outstanding’. The Ofsted report recognises that children who attend the nursery make good progress in all aspects of their Learning and Development and have warm and secure relationships with the staff.
For one Mum, Gemma Evans from Walker, Tynemouth Nursery at Tynemet’s Coast Road Campus has proved invaluable. Her eldest son Andrew now aged 8 was one of the first children to attend the nursery when it opened. Delighted with the supervision, care and development that Andrew received, Gemma was more than happy to apply for a nursery place for her youngest son Max who is one year old and thoroughly enjoys attending each day.
