TyneMet College celebrates with successful students again at the Harrogate Flower Show.

Carole King, 42 from, Ashington , studying on the Level 3 Diploma in Floristry was delighted to be selected for second place in the category of ‘Bags of Style’ with her creation of a floral handbag designed on a base of Liriope muscari (china grass) decorated with Ornithogalum and Craspedia. She also decorated a shoe and a trowel to complete her overall display.

The TyneMet College Group Entry were awarded Bronze in the Group Competition based on the theme of ‘Myths and Legends’. The students chose ‘Fairies at the bottom of the garden’ inspired by The Cottingley Fairies.

The Student Group who are studying on a variety of Floristry courses were assisted by Floristry staff Tina Reddell , Wendy Naylor, Michele Humble and Sandra Brown were: Charlotte Forest, Elizabeth Rutherford, Sarah Lee, Janet Ferry, Carole King, Danielle Webster, Amie Madden, Barbara Inskip, Elizabeth Inskip, Anthony Gary Payne, and Emma Pink.

Tina Reddel, Floristry Teacher, TyneMet College, said:

"All of the students who took part worked with commitment and dedication to create their designs and their recognition was well deserved.

“As last year, all of the entries into the competition were of a very high standard, I was very proud of all of the TyneMet students who participated.”
