Floristry students from TyneMet College were invited to design 30 table displays for the International Women’s Day 2014 event at the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead.
The Floristry department at TyneMet has supplied floral arrangements for this event for the last three years running. This year teachers tasked Level 3 Floristry students to come up with innovative designs for the floral centrepieces.
Helped by Level 2 students, the amazing pink and blue centrepiece designs came to life with a mixture of flowers including; Calla Lilies, Eustoma, Eryngium and Veronica. The tall vase standing designs looked elegant when placed on each table and the students were delighted with their completed creations.
Tina Reddel, Floristry Teacher at TyneMet College, said:
“I was delighted with the finished designs; they were exactly what the organisers of the event had envisaged.
“The design concept for the arrangements was left solely to the Level 3 students and supported by the Level 2 floristry students the designs were of a very high professional standard.
“I always look forward each year to this event as it allows our students to showcase their skills and creativity.”
