The evidence was all in favour of Queen Alex’s A Level Jaxson Hind as he triumphed in the Northumbria University Law Awards which recognise upcoming legal talent in the region. 

The awards ceremony, which is sponsored by Northumbria University, showcases students who have excelled in their exam results and with a verdict of ‘outstanding’ for A Level student Jaxson Hind; was the deserved winner of a £50 Amazon voucher.

Lee Patterson, Deputy Head of Queen Alexandra Sixth Form said: “It’s an absolute pleasure to see Jaxson receive recognition for his studies and with the highest point score in AS Law amongst his peers, Jaxson’s determination and all of his hard work have truly paid off!”

The awards ceremony, which was presented at the University’s Law School, provided a fascinating insight into the legal profession for Jaxson, who said of the experience:  “I was so shocked and surprised to be announced as the winner of the ‘recognising talent’ award. I’d love to pursue a career in law and with a hope of becoming a solicitor or barrister one day, the ceremony offered the chance for me to truly consider a career in law. The evening consisted of various legal workshops including a mock trial on the subject of advocacy, with guest speakers discussing the latest legal matters and changes in the industry.”

The Queen Alexandra Student is also an avid basketball player for the College’s North East Sports Academy, whilst extracurricular activities include volunteering at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

Jaxson added:  “I’m so grateful to my teachers for putting me forward for the award; I really feel that my time at Queen Alexandra has allowed me to explore learning in a variety of subject areas whilst equipping me to progress to  university - the teachers are great and I’ve met loads of new friends.”
