Teacher in Maths

The College is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Teacher in Maths. The team currently includes a range of staff who facilitate teaching and learning excellence and support students in a range of subject areas. The role involves teaching predominantly on A Level Maths, and resit GCSE Maths at both Coast Road and QCA campus.
The successful applicant will hold a first degree in Mathematics as well as a teaching qualification and literacy at level 2. An ability to demonstrate extensive knowledge in the subject area and an ability to employ a range of teaching and learning styles and strategies in teaching A Level Maths, Further Maths and GCSE resit. Previous experience of teaching and assessing A levels would be an advantage but is not essential. This post may be suitable for a Newly Qualified Teacher.

Technician - Art and Design

We are looking for a creative individual to support the delivery of Art, Design & Media provision in the Creative Studios at the Queen Alexandra Campus.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of using Photoshop, Apple Mac and other digital media packages. They will hold literacy and numeracy qualifications at a minimum of level 2.
Experience of ordering, control and storage of stock is desirable. The post holder will be expected to work quickly and accurately with close attention to detail. Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be self-motivated and use own initiative is also required. Previous experience of working within the FE sector would be advantageous.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic experienced Manager to lead and deliver effective customer-focused and high quality Estates and Facilities Management, and develop an Estates and Facilities Management/Accommodation strategy, to appropriately manage the College’s accommodation and sites. The post holder will have direct management responsibility for 10 staff.
The post holder will be required to have relevant experience in Estates/Facilities Management, with considerable knowledge, experience and understanding of budgetary management and procurement, including establishing and managing maintenance contracts and services. The successful candidate must hold an appropriate degree (or equivalent) and be a member of a relevant professional body.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Pastoral Tutor to support our learners within our Queen Alexandra and Creative Access Department. The Pastoral Tutor is responsible for enabling learners to succeed and reach their potential through holistic pastoral support including academic guidance and monitoring of attendance punctuality and behaviour.
The successful candidate will hold a level 4 or equivalent professional qualification relevant to the role, literacy and numeracy qualifications at a minimum of level 2 and have a commitment to professional development with a willingness to learn new skills. Extensive experience of working with young people in an educational setting and a track record of success in engaging young people to achieve and develop are essential along with mentoring experience and a creative approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be self-motivated and use own initiative is also required. A knowledge and understanding of the Further Education sector and previous experience of working in a pastoral support role would be advantageous.

The position (37 hours per week, term time only) will predominately be based in our Preparation for Life and Work department and have substantial experience in working with learners who have a specific Learning difficulty and / or disability.
The successful candidates will be suitably qualified and hold or be working towards level 4 qualifications in an appropriate area of learning as well as literacy and numeracy qualifications at a minimum of level 2. They will be self-motivated with the ability to work both on their own as well as part of a team. Good organisational and administrative skills and well developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Previous experience of working within a College environment and a knowledge of FE would be an advantage but not essential.

We are seeking to appoint suitably qualified Trainers in Health and Social Care to join the Care, Sport and Leisure department. The department currently includes a number of staff who facilitate teaching and learning excellence and support learners in a range of subject areas.
TyneMet has a wide range of delivery in this sector covering Apprenticeships and bespoke employer provision. Trainers in Health and Social Care will be responsible for the assessment, training and delivery of learning to enable our learners to successfully achieve their qualifications. This position will allow you to draw on your own experience in the Health or Social Care setting to provide learners in their workplaces with support and training enabling them to realise their career potential.
The successful candidates will be qualified to at least level 4 in Health or Social Care and hold a D32/33 or A1 as well as literacy and numeracy qualifications at a minimum of level 2. A teaching qualification or Further Education Teaching Certificate and the willingness to work towards full accreditation is also required. Extensive occupational experience in a Health or Social Care setting and previous experience in assessing vocational qualifications in the work environment of this sector is essential.
Being a graduate in a curriculum specific area, holding a D34 or V1 qualification as well as professional status with a Health or Social Care professional body along with experience of the NHS would be an advantage but is not essential.
