TyneMet Celebrates Adult Learner Achievements

Tyne Metropolitan College in North Tyneside has held a celebration event to commemorate the achievements of over 100 adult learners from businesses across the North East in obtaining a range of professional development qualifications.
The event, which was held at Tyne Met’s Coast Road Campus, welcomed staff from the likes of Newcastle United Football Club and North Tyneside Council to formally commemorate their achievements in completing a range of NVQ qualifications to help further their development in their chosen career.
40 year old Dianne Ruddy from Newcastle United Football Club attended the event to celebrate the completion of her NVQ level 3 in Hospitality Supervision, she said, “I’ve worked at NUFC for over nine years as a full time linen supervisor and on match days I also act as a hospitality supervisor to look after up to 1000 corporate hospitality customers.
“To help improve my skills, I completed the NVQ course in hospitality supervision and the experience has been great, the course fitted in around my day-to-day role and allowed me to gain the official qualifications to substantiate my professional experience. I’m hoping to look at more training opportunities now to improve my skills and knowledge in other areas of my job.”
Tyne Met runs a broad selection of courses to meet the training and development needs of a range of businesses from across the region. The experienced team of training coordinators and assessors are able to offer bespoke training programmes to businesses based on the individual needs and goals of each company.
Jon Vincent. Principal of Tyne Metropolitan College said, “We welcome the opportunity to reward the achievements of so many individuals from the business community who are committed to furthering their professional development through the excellent teaching and training resources available at Tyne Met. We are committed to ensuring that our courses are both relevant and accessible for businesses looking to broaden the skills of their workforce through training and I congratulate the hundreds of learners who have furthered their careers with Tyne Met this year.”
