City & Guilds (3268-25) Certificate in Welding, Fabrication and Cutting Skills // Level 2
This course is designed for those wishing to build on skills gained at an introductory level allowing you to develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in fabrication and welding.
Areas of study include:
- Metal fabrication
- Thermal cutting techniques
- Manual Metal Arc welding
- Tungsten Inert Gas welding
- Metal Inert Gas welding
You will be working in excellent facilities, using industry-standard equipment safely and you’ll be taught by engineers with vast industry experience and close relationships with some of the region’s largest employers.
Two GCSEs at Grade D/ Grade 3 including maths and English or a relevant Level 1 Engineering qualification. Interview with course tutor is also required.
You will be required to complete the following: practical assessments and short answer question papers.
Progression & Careers
The Level 2 Certificate in Welding, Fabrication and Cutting Skills (3268-25) allows you to gain the skills you need to progress to a higher-level engineering course, seek an apprenticeship or simply enjoy working within an engineering environment. You may be able to progress onto a Level 3 engineering qualification.
You will gain expertise on this course that will provide you with the essential components of an engineering career, especially within fabrication and welding.
