City and Guilds (2850-24) Level 2 Diploma in Engineering – Manufacturing Technology // Level 2
Overview
This course is designed for those who plan to increase their practical and theory knowledge of a range of mechanical engineering processes including machining, fabrication and hand fitting skills within our industry leading practical training facilities whilst preparing themselves for entry into the mechanical/manufacturing engineering industry or a related apprenticeship.
Units covered will include:
- Unit 205 Machine components using turning techniques
- Unit 206 Using bench fitting techniques
- Unit 217 Fabricating sheet metalwork
- Unit 203 Principles of manufacturing technology
- Unit
202 Principles of engineering technology
- Unit 201 Working in engineering
You will be working in excellent facilities, using industry-standard equipment safely and you’ll be taught by engineers with vast industry experience and close relationships with some of the region’s largest employers.
Entry Requirements
GCSE maths and English at Grade D (3) or above or a relevant Engineering qualification at Level 1.
You will also need to attend an informal interview with the course tutor.
Assessment
Assessment will be via the City & Guilds online multiple-choice exam, short answer question papers and college based assignments which contain practical and knowledge tasks.
Progression Routes
The Level 2 (2850-24) Diploma in Engineering - Manufacturing Technology allows you to gain the skills you need to progress on to the Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence or an apprenticeship with Tyne North Training
