Dry Cleaning NVQ 2

Entry Requirements

Applicants should be currently employed in a dry cleaning operation.

Course Content

Mandatory Units
HS1 Health and Safety
LDC3 Classify items and makeup loads for cleaning
LDC 12 Remove stains by dry cleaning
LDC13 Clean items by dry cleaning
LDC21 Deal with solvent emissions in dry cleaning

Optional units ( A minimum of one unit to be achieved)
LDC14 Garment and item finish using the ironing table after dry cleaning
LDC15 Garment and item finish using a free steam press

Additional units (may be taken but not required for the qualification)
LDC4 Carry out the wash process
LDC7 Tumble dry items
LDC11 Form finish and inspect garments using a free steam press
LDC17 Inspect and dispatch laundered and cleaned items
