Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above, one of which must be grade B or above in Maths (higher tier). AS Mathematics.

Course Content

Students who have achieved Mathematics at AS level can move on to complete the full A2 qualification. At A2 level, students undertake two further compulsory Core Maths modules. As well as the compulsory Core Maths modules, students study an advanced version of the Applied Maths modules offered at AS level: Decision Maths – the study of networks and critical path analysis. Mechanics – the study of motion and forces. Statistics – analysis of data and probability.

Three 1 hour 30 minute written exams in Core Maths and Applied Maths..

Progression To

A2 Mathematics is a sound basis for a degree in mathematics or many other areas of study.
