Entry Requirements

You should have 5 GCSE’s at C or above including English Language and English Literature (higher tier). AS Level English Language & Literature.

Course Content

Students who have achieved English Language and Literature at AS level can move on to complete the full A2 qualification. This programme sees students applying the understanding and insight gained from literary and linguistic studies to transform an original work into a different genre or sub-genre.
Students consider many literary and linguistic concepts, exploring approaches to transcripts of real-life speech. The construction, conveyance and interpretation of meanings, both in drama and in real-life speech are all taught. Learners choose two set literary works and study their transformation into different genres or sub-genres.

Start Date: September one year

Assessment

One 2 hour written exam and coursework.

Progression To

A2 English Language and Literature is a sound basis for a degree in English or many other areas of study.
