Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above.

Course Content

At AS level students explore specific media texts. They undertake a full exploration of the questions raised by the texts, analysing how audiences respond to each of them and considering issues of representation. Students examine media texts closely and gain an understanding of texts as constructed products. Students will learn how social / cultural groups, events and issues are represented in media texts and how audiences respond to and interpret texts. Additionally, students will be taught production processes. They will learn research and planning skills, practical techniques and the ability to evaluate their own work.
