Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above, including a grade C in English, Maths and Science.

Course Content

This course takes a multi-disciplinary approach, encouraging the development of
different methods of enquiry. The programme’s focal point is the performer, performance and how these link to leading a healthy and active lifestyle. The course is based on the
interaction between the theory and practice of physical education. Students will explore topics such as anatomy and physiology, the acquisition of skill and socio-cultural studies relating to participation in physical education. They will also undertake physical units, allowing for practical performance to be assessed and evaluated. The specifications allow for coaching and officiating skills to be submitted.

Further Information

Start Date: September one year

Assessment

One 2 hour written exam and completion of a physical sporting performance. Students select two sports activities to perform and undertake an interview.
