Foundation Degree in Exercise, Health & Fitness

This course gives you a broad based education and training in the exercise sciences to add to the practical work of planning, delivering and evaluating exercise interventions and classes.
This course is intended to offer you the skills that underpin the effective delivery of services in the exercise, fitness and health sectors of society.

START DATE & DURATION September, 2 years

Entry Requirements

Our typical offer is 160 points from a minimum of 2 A levels/AVCEs or equivalent. You also need three passes at GCSE grade C or above which must include Maths and English Language, or a BTEC Diploma Level 3, or a minimum of Level 2 Functional Skills (or equivalent). An interview is required.

Assessment

Assessment includes: written coursework, oral presentations, reports,individual and group presentations, multiple choice questionnaires,and practical tests. Students will undertake work-based opportunities in both years of the course.

This Foundation Degree meets the national occupational standards in this vocational area giving you the skills and accredited status needed for employment. You can alsocontinue your studies with an offer of direct access to Year 3 of the BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Development Degree at the University of Sunderland.

Foundation Degree in Exercise, Health & Fitness

L6 CERTIFICATE IN THERAPEUTIC COUNSELLING SUPERVISION

(Subject to validation)

This qualification is for experienced Counsellors who want to learn the skills necessary to supervise Counsellors working at service levels A and B.1

ATTENDANCE Part-time

START DATE & DURATION September, 90 hours in duration with a variety of delivery modes

Entry Requirements

You will need to have both supervisees and supervisory supervision, and be working as a Counsellor under supervision. You must also have completed either a Foundation Degree in Counselling, CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling or Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills and Theory, and have at least one year’s post qualifying experience of supervised client work. Alternatively you must have completed a Diploma or HND in Counselling or CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and have at least two years post-qualifying experience of supervised client work. An interview is required.

Assessment

Assessment throughout the course includes: tutor observed supervision skills practice, tutor assessment of candidate portfolios and written work completed during the course. This work will include written assignments and supervisory work. There will also be an externally assessed case review.

Progression to...

The Level 6 Certificate in Counselling Supervision is a higher level qualification that can enhance employment prospects. This course will equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to work as a competent Counselling Supervisor.

L6 CERTIFICATE IN THERAPEUTIC COUNSELLING SUPERVISION
